Back Home

So yes, I’m back home from school via Miami Beach. Wow…it was so nice down there, there was sun (a rare sight in Boston recently), water, good stuff…Got to see my grandparents and relatives too. We went to my (step?)-Aunt and Uncle’s house for Seders this year, which was a lot of fun. The one drawback…there was way too much (good) food to eat. It was crazy! On the second night, there were at least 5 different Kugels (and those were just the start of the meal after soup). Friday night we ate at grandmas, and again, we were given too much food (but it was grandma’s cooking so it was really, really good). One of ths highlights though–Grandma served us Platanos (Plantanes)–which made this hispanic very happy.

Miami itself was a lot of fun. Granted, I”m sunburnt (d’oh!), but being able to be in the sun and see the beach was a real treat. I must admit, since there was no one my age there I was quite bored (sigh). Although, I’ve never heard so much Hebrew, Spanish and English being spoken at once (apparently Israelis like to visit Miami–I don’t know why, I think Eilat is just as good if not better).

There were soooo many Jews in Miami beach it was crazy. There must have been a few thousand. A lot of ‘em were New Yorkers, who all knew each other, and were very clingy. A lot of ‘em were also quite religious (more trad. Orthodox), so that was awkward in some ways.

Now I’m back in Cleveland, for the week, at home, not to my joy. I have a neuroscience paper to write, and I have to find a summer job, plus 3 days when I can’t do anything (b/c of the Holiday and saturday). Anyone got a job for me?

I’m extremely behind in the blogsphere having missed out on 4 days (Dios Mio), so I’ve really gotta catch up. But for now, I do have some things to share.

First, I missed Ann Coulter Day and she wrote a damn good piece this week. Second, Jeff Jacoby takes out a gigantic ClueBat and takes it to CNN (and some others)

Third, the Angry Clam highlights some wierd going ons over at UCLA

Eh, that’s all for now, I’m tired and am gonna go to sleep….

Blogging Hiatus

To everyone and anyone who reads this blog–I just wanted to let you know that there won’t be any new postings until 04/20/03

I’m heading down to Miami Beach for Passover Seders (not for a real vacation; I have relatives there), and I most likely won’t have access to a computer, until I return to Cleveland [Home[ on the 20th. Once in Cleveland blogging will be light and sporadic, as with my family, who knows if I can get access to the computer (between my brother, mom and sister).

But don’t worry, I’ll be back at school on the 27th…

To all, have a Happy Passover (if you’re Jewish), a Happy Easter (to most Christians) and to everyone else…um….have a nice start of spring(?)

Gotta pack those suitcases

Time for a laugh

For more laughts, we also have the daily cartoons from American Real Politik and Cox and Forkum have another genius creation

From our hero Jonah Goldberg, we get this bit of “POLITICAL CREME BRULÉ”

We also have a picture of the world’s biggest Matzah! (Hat tip to Dr. J.) That’s just cool. I wonder if it’s Kosher for passover?

To the Political Sphere again: Aussie PM John Howard lays the smack down against the French . What doesn’t that country have? Beer, women, rugby, good weather, cute koala bears…and look, they have Tim Blair

Know the really cool deck of carts that CENTCOM has been showing, with the faces of Iraqi criminals on ‘em (pdf file here). you can now buy ‘em online!

And you know why the State Dept. hates Chalabi? Because he isn’t fond of the UN

Okay, that’s enough for now, I”m gonna go outside and enjoy the weather

MAJOR FISKING

Yeah, I know it’s extremely late at night (or should I say early in the AM); but I just got an email form the “Students for Peace in Israel and Palestine” (SPIP) group [part of my intel work], and it’s made my blood boil with anger, as it originated from a Hillel fellow and then was forwarded to this pro-terrorist list by my arch-nemesis (think Helen Thomas+michael moore rolled into one–physically and mentally):

The following is an add-in for the Passover Seder [festive meal].

Now, I must give it an extremely, through Fisking [Warning: This is rated R for Truth content]

A CONTEMPORARY TEN PLAGUES FOR THE PASSOVER SEDER

Tonight we celebrate our liberation from the House of Bondage.

Yeah, cause Moses and the Holy One Blessed be He liberated our ancestors from Egypt.

Yet even as we celebrate and increase our joy with four cups of wine,

Note: French wine shall not be used this year! We’re increasing joy with the wine–not making sorrow. And since we’re commemorating freedom; why the hell would we want French wine?

we have come to the point in our Seder where we are commanded to diminish this joy.

Are you referring to the Bitter Herbs (Marror–usually horseraddish). I hate that part.

For tonight we remember not only the joy of liberation; we also remember that liberation is rarely without its victims.

Wait! Stop the presses! This is not in the text of the Haggadah [special prayer book for the Seder[. We do not mourn the fact that Pharoh and his army drown in the Red Sea, while the outstreatched arm of G-d parted the sea for Moses and the Children of Israel. We rejoice in our liberation from evil and bondage!

We remember that while we were singing with Moses and Miriam on the far shore of the Red Sea, Egyptians were suffering in our
wake. As it is written:! "God rebuked the angels, saying, ‘My children are drowning, and y et you sing!'" (Sanhedrin 39b)

Great job taking a quote, likely out of context from the Talmud. Great job messing with the text. You've also twisted the phrases' meaning, as this piece shows [note: for those not familiar with Jewish law, you may be perplxed by this]. You can rarely take a quote from the Talmud and let it stand by itself; why? Because the Talmud is so rich in words and thoughts, that taking one quote leaves out everything else.

In the past century, we have witnessed what may be called a liberation second only to the Exodus.

Which one? The liberation of the Jews (and others) from Hitler’s death camps? The liberation of Panama from Noriega? The liberation of Eastern Europe from communism? Jews from the former USSR and Ethiopia?

Yet Zionism, too, is not without its victims.

Excuse me?!?! The only victims are those who gave their lives so that we can enjoy the State of Israel.

Just as it was deemed necessary for the Egyptians to suffer for us to leave Egypt, so, too, has it been deemed necessary for the Palestinian people to suffer immensely that we may have our state.

What in the hell are you talking about you moonbat! First off, were no Palestinian people in 1948 There were Arabs; Arabs who wern’t forced out of Israel by the Jews, but rather, by other Arabs (and who started the war again?)

The analogy is not perfect, and we can debate exactly who is responsible for exactly what until it is time for the morning Sh’ma,

Yeah, your damn analogy is far from perfect. It’s about as dumb as any idiotarian analogy I’ve ever heard. We can debate, but you’re wrong, and the documents and facts prove it. And yes, Clue is Kosher for Passover [ignore the line re: morning Sh'ma; it's a Jew thing]

but we acknowledge that no matter how guilty or innocent an individual or a nation, all are created in the Divine image,

Eh, that’s true, can’t disagree there. Thank you G-d for making me who I am.

and it is a plague when any suffer

But in your idiotarian world, Jews can suffer, no problem. That ain’t right, and I don’t accept your double standard.

Tonight we acknowledge that, while we have political independence, the Palestinian people remain stateless and under a military occupation.

Tonight, I acknowledge, and thank G-d for the independence and the existance of the State of Israel. I DO NOT acknowledge your claom about the palis being under “occupation” cause face it, it ain’t true either! Why? The land isn’t “occupied” and the palis put themselves in this bind by supporting terror.

Tonight we affirm that until we find a way to cease these plagues, we can never celebrate fully

No, I’m celebrating my festival. I mourn the victims of Terror who have been brutally murtered for being Jewish and in Israel. (may their memories be a blessing)

Tonight we remember

No–YOU remember in your false history:

*Displacement of hundreds of thousands, and the creation of a refugee crisis

What the hell? Didn’t I already disprove this piece of crap? Eh, it’s late, so scroll above.

*Massacres in Sabra and Shatila

Which wern’t Israel’s fault. Ever heard of the Phalnges? (not the Jews)

*Unjust allocation of scarce water resources

That’s a new one. Haven’t heard it before. Too bad Israel makes offers to provide water and the PLO turns ‘em down.

*Curfews imposed with tanks and machine guns
*Humiliating and obstructive checkpoints

And why does Israel have to do this? Because of the TERRORISTS that you support and give rise to. The same terrorists that kill innocent little babies in their father’s arms, in homes, at cafes….. Humiliating checkpoints? That’s objective of you. Without ‘em, the bombers would be coming in freely. Think about that.

*House demolitions

Let me complete your sentence that you started: “belonging to terroists”.

*Land confiscations

Either land belonging to terrorists, or land taken for security reasons (in the case of the latter, financial compensation is provided).

*Destruction of economically vital olive groves

From which TERRORIST SNIPERS shoot from, attacking Jews.

*Denial of access to jobs

This is Israel’s fault? How? Why not blame Arafat? Or what does Gordie say about that?

*Denial of self-determination

B.S. again. You idiotarians cease to amaze me. What about the “East Bank”, you know, Trans-Jordan, that was the Arab part of the Balfour Mandate. What about that? 70% of the people in Jordan are “Palestinians”, yet the king is Hasmenite….go figure…..

And with this, I end this major FISKING, which has made me most angry—as such, I must go to sleep. But not before I share the story of a real exodus, of Jews from anti-Semitism and opression to the State of Israel. Next year in Jerusalem!

Blah

So my brain just shifted into one of those “blah” modes….must be from too much work. That or it means I’m getting depressed (not good).

Anyone out there (or anyone reading this blog) know of an internship or job for a student persuing a B.Sc. in Neuroscience? Sigh…

Back to attempting to get some work done

Ticker Tape Parades with much fanfare

That’s what I think our troops deserve when they get home. A HUGE parade with US flags waving all over, jingoism run amok, while our troops are paraded (prefereably on their vehicles, so we can ‘ooh and aah’ at the might of the APCs, tanks, and armor), and we can hail them for being the heroes that they really are. Cause, hell, they damn deserve it! Maybe if we could combine it with an airshow, that way we get to see all those kick ass airplanes, and we can have parachuters…..wow, that would be awesome. Can you imagine how many people would turn out?

So in other news, I got an ‘A’ on my neuroanatomy paper–yeah, brief ego trip.
France says that the US can have a role in post-war Iraq…ya hear that? France is calling the shots now (or so they think).

Syria continues to dig itself deeper and deeper into trouble. Let’s get those bastards already, no? Joseph Farah says we should. (As do many other scholars). And why aren’t the liberals calling for an end to the occupation in Lebanon? Also, the Fraudi Arabian kingdom should be sent a warning that they better get themselves in line, or they’re gonna be facing some Shock and Awe from the US (Rummy style).

Well now I’ve gotta go do some work…..

Time for a mini-Fisking

Sorry….I just had to have a mini Fisking. I was in the mood for it, why, I dunno. Here’s the piece in question:

“Let’s talk a trillion. For one trillion dollars, you could build a $75000 house, place it on $5000 worth of land, furnish it with $10000 worth of
furniture, put a $10000 car in the garage and give all this to each and every family in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Colorado and Iowa. “Having done this, you would still have enough left to build a $10 million hospital and a $10 million library in each of 250 cities and towns throughout
the six-state region. “After having done all that, you would still have enough money left to build 500 schools at $10 million each for the communities in the region, and after having done all that, you would still have enough left from the original trillion to put aside, at 10 percent annual interest, a sum of money that would pay a salary of $25000 per year for an army of 10000 nurses, the same salary for an army of 10000 teachers, and an annual cash allowance of $5000 for each and every family throughout the six-state region- not just for one year, but forever.” The message that we’re getting out is simple: Exorbitant military spending makes disarmament the key not only to a world at peace but to a world of economic and social justice as well.

-Quoting W.S. Coffin, who was commenting on the $1.14 trillion the Reagan
administration spent on the military from 1984 to 1987.

I call this a mini-fisking as I needn’t go through it line by line.

Here’s the facts; ’84-87 the Cold War was reaching a high-point. It was us or the Ruskies. Reagan (in his wisdom), spent on defense, and the Russians couldn’t keep up. And as a result, who won the Cold War? Anyone remember the Berlin Wall comin’ down? Also, if we didn’t spend money on defense, would we have the kick ass armed forces which we have now? Had we disarmed then, the commies would’ve wonl and then we would all be under the rule of the damn Kremlin.

Alas, in his wisdom, President Reagan did what was right. He fought for capitalism and human freedom. He spent on defense to keep us safe and free. This man on the other hand looks like he would’ve rather lived under the yoke of the USSR–but you know what, I’m happy that I have freedom.

Thus, it is a mini-fisking.

Sunny Sunday

So for the first time in who knows how long, there’s nice weather outside. Of course, the lacrosse game that was scheduled today had to be cancelled (b/c the other team backed out), but it would’ve been the perfect day for a game….sigh.

Orientation spring training was today, and that was fun. The color for the fall is green.

Alas, my sunday hasn’t been so sunny, as I’ve been stuck inside laying out the Free Press (I set a new record–2hrs!!!)
I also got a rejection letter from an intership program I applied to (sad news). And another program I inquired about months ago, just replied to me, saying that they wern’t offering the program/fellowship, but I could work as a volunteer in a research project (No, not as a subject), so I’m waiting to hear back from the doctors about that. Perhaps I’ll have more luck with that.

I’ve been watching Arena Football today interesting game. It’s nowhere near the same as the outdoor game, but it is fast paced and exciting. The game on right now is tied 76-76 here in OT, talk about high scoring. But in the end, it is still football.

Not much else to write about right now. France, Russia and Germany are still being weasels, and we’re finding more dirt on ‘em. They’re’ gonna pay big time. So is Syria, as they’re now in the cross hairs…and I think they’re gonna take the open slot in the Axis of Evil.

I’ve gotta go read some neuroscience journal articles now…

Saturday Night

I’m feeling somewhat better now, my head is still spinning a bit though.

So for now, I’ll blog, why not?

First off, there’s this AMAZING piece titled: “We Did the Right Thing” It’s an amazing slide show, which words can’t describe. (Warning: there are graphic images; and there is somewhat of a brief anti-Dem bias in it).

Second, on a more humerous note: Rummy gives sex advice
(If you like Rummy’s press conferences, you’ll love this)

CNN continues to get ripped to shreads by other journalistic outlets–this time the NY Post takes a swipe . I’m still not very suprised by all this.

So about those anti-war rallies today, what were they maching about? Anyone know? Are they still marching for a dictator who has begun to fall away? Are they marching for that idiotic “impeach Bush” campaign? [note: this link is to a criticism of the campaign]

Oh wait! I know, the pro-terrorism fools were marching for their friend Assad in Syria who just lost his illegal oil. Okay everyone, time to cry for Assad…(if you actually shed a tear, I’ll kick your ass).

Speaking of ass kicking, I think that the axis of weasels are really in for one.
Fox News just showed videos from Geraldo (yuck, I know) with the 101st Airborne, blowing up Iraqi weapons….hooray for controlled explosions (he he)

Okay, I’m hoping that the advil will kick in soon, but I just wanted to share one last thing. Not only is Monsoor Ijaz an amazing foriegn affairs/intel analyst, he also knows his nuclear physics. Nice.

Paper’s done

Yeah, so my paper is (finally) done and has been emailed off.
I also was able to write a scathing, ClueBat bashing, letter to the Justice in response to Gordy’s idiotic, ignorant reply to my prior letter.

Speaking of yielding a giant ClueBat, did anyone else see Rummy lay the smack down today at the press conference? Wow…you have to see the replay….it’s beautiful. Take that NYT and WaPo and all you other idiotarian papers. And while we’re dealing with idiotarian journalists, what about this “revelation” from CNN. I always knew that network was spineless, and it’s just another reason to watch Fox News (there’s enough other stuff in the blogsphere about the article). Last, under the journalism topic, anyone who reads the Boston Globe knows how the op-ed staff is basically a bunch of idiotarians. Like today’s “the war is still about oil” column (wft?) There’s a site that fisks ‘em daily–SillyGlobe

I’m still under the weather, but the weekend means I get to sleep in. Hooray!

I’m still bothered by the fact that my university is giving an honorary degree to the tool, who voted against Liberating Iraq, who recently said this: “we could’ve brought down that statue for a lot less” Yeah, afterall containment WAS more expensive (as reported a week or two ago). But since this bitch’s favorite day of the year is soon coming (Apr. 15–tax day), I’m not suprised. Why are we giving her a diploma??? And if you don’t know who I’m talking about, this is her

Speaking of idiotic coments by this same bitch, here’s the money quote:

President Bill Clinton.
“This best-trained, best-equipped, best-led force for peace in the history of the world was not invented in the last two years. This had a strong influence and strong support during the Clinton years,”

Yeah, so that means you’re also gonna be willing to take credit for the Clinton admin’s intel service cuts? Or the recession that started under Clinton?
(okay, I got this idea from Rush–so give him the credit)

Well, just got a letter from the Justice, apparently my letter had to be 500 words or less….oops…I’ve taken care of trimming it down. Maybe I”ll publish the original here.

So tomorrow, there’s a communist, pro-dictator ANSWER march in DC. What losers, that’s all I’ve gotta say. They won’t admit defeat–even though they should. I sa we rub it into their faces, no? Tools.

Hey, speaking of useful idiots, the IDF got rid of another ones of those idiots from the Bulldozer Girl’s group of terror-supporters. Score! Even better with the palis mourning their friend saddam’s demise Plus the PIJ terrorist leader the IAF nailed the other day–double score! Speaking of which, can we go after Syria next?

Okay, time for services and dinner…

Poetic Justice

Yeah, I finished my paper (well amost, I just have to fix the citations and add the images and cite those–minor stuff). Finally.

So here’s what I like to call poetic justice: French, German buildings targeted by Baghdad mobs Heh

Okay, off to bed

I’m sick

Yeah, so I woke up feeling sick….whent back to bed, felt sick, woke up again, felt a bit better. Went to lacrosse pratice, might not have been the best idea…feel sick. Found out the game we were supposed to have sunday, the other team cancelled…bastards. . Now feeling sick again. Sigh.
And I have a lot of work to get done tonight; and I have to go to a lecture for class.

So what about these finds these past 24-hrs.. A potential mobile biochem lab? What about the finidngs at al-tiawatha (sp?), a nuclear lab underground? Didn’t the inspectors visit this place? Also, what’s up in western Iraq? I’m reserving judgement on this issue untill tests are performed, but all I have to say for now is “Ignorance is Blix”

In the wierder side of things, Baghdad Bob has a website. Heh.

I have an idea of what US troops can do to really win over the hearts of the Iraqi people (even more so). Give the people soccer balls. Really. People in the ME (and most other places in the world) LOVE soccer. It’s like a universal language, and if you shwo that connection with them, it scores points with them. Granted, the kids could probably beat most of our GIs in soccer, but, who really cares? It’s the smiles on the kids faces that count.

Okay, I’m gonna run now, go to the speaker, then perhaps to the VRWC meeting. Oooh…Rummy’s speaking now too!

Thursday

It’s Thursday! That means it’s Ann Coulter time! Her column this week sounds a lot like what I’d written about Al Gore, and Sen Dashle with regards to Free Speech being a two way street.

I’m not feeling to well right now…must be b/c I’m overworked….sigh….so instead of being very insightful, I’m just gonna link to a few things, and make witty comments. :)

Before anything else, let us think of the brave men and women who are serving our great nation, and who are in the process of taking out a terrorist, dicatorial regime and in the process protecting our nation. And may we think about htose Iraqis who are tasting freedom for the first time. The war isn’t over yet, but we have made amazing amounts of progress.

First up, Denny once again displays his idiocy (not hard to do). Let me provide the simple analysis: This is just another way to WASTE our tax money. For the things Denny wants, he should just visit any college campus. I’d rather see this money Denny wants go to tax cuts or defense spending.

Second, is this further proof of UN inspections failing? Marines find secret nuclear facility. Let’s hear it for the UN inspectors!

Third, we’re moving MOABs to Iraq. Goodbye “feyadeen“! That would be a nice sight, no? Or send one over to Iran’s reactor in progress…or give one to our dear friend Assad over in Syria. Good ideas, no?

Fourth, just go look at this picture at Emperor Misha’s site No comment needed.

Fifth, will the hollywood celebs actually admit their wrong on the war? And will Janeane Garofalo live up to the promise she made O’reily? Heh.

Sixth, speaking of leftist idiocy, look at these 11 congresspeople who voted “present” against a bill condeming Cuba for human rights violations (the vote was 414-0). What idiots!?!?!

I think that’s all for now….I’m tired and out of it, and tomorrow is a busy paper writing day…sigh

(see picture here)

And a great quote from Rummy: “Saddam Hussein takes `rightful place` with failed dictators like Hitler and Stalin’”

Now, I know the war isn’t over, but I’m wondering why the hell the commies in ANSWER are still having an anti-war march this Sat. in DC. What are they gonna do? Hold a vigil for Saddam?

Wow…to think this was all live on TV, how neat is that?

I’ve gotta get working…..

Down With Saddam

I’m sitting hear watching Iraqis CELEBRATE in the middle of Baghdad, ready to yank down a statue of Saddam Hussein…I’m seeing flashbacks to the Berlin Wall in one sense.

Some thoughts on today from none other than Jonah Goldberg

In celebration of this victory, and the cheering throngs of Iraqi people, which the anti-war liberals said wouldn’t exist, we shall make today a bash liberals day! (Alas, isn’t every day?)

Speaking of which, why the hell is it snowing again? I so want to go to the “Earth Day Picnic” today, and go ask the eco-wackos why the hell it’s snowing in April despite their claims of ‘global warming’. I will then proceed to yank out my ClueBet and take care of buisness :)

Also, a mini-fisking will take place today in celebration….

But first, back to the TV….

The Fedayeen Farah

I think that Joseph Farah (editor at WND) is onto something again in his latest editorial

He’s got some good ideas too, such as:

The Fedayeen Farah sacrifice in the name of joy and the pursuit of happiness – synonyms, it seems to me, for freedom.
What will the Fedayeen Farah do:

We’ll make Humus out of Hamas.

We’ll show that Hezbollah, the so-called Party of God, is really the party of Satan

We’ll send all the Jihadists back to Jidda and expose the “holy warriors” as “unholy warriors.”

We’ll say “no sir” to Yasser.

Nice…..I like this idea
