A Brandeis Conspiracy?
Donald Luskin points out that in today’s issue of the NYT, Tom Friedman (Brandeis ’75) “praises the long-run advantages of free trade and outsourcing as sources of economic growth and dynamism”
However, in typical NYT fashion, he brings in commentary from Fmr. Sec. Labor and current Brandeis Professor Robert Reich…
I think that Friedman should stick to writing on the Mid-East, at least when he’s doing a good job with it (unlike some recent columns).
Is there some sort of Brandeis conspiracy going on here between Reich and Friedman? One can only wonder…
Update: Looks like the Friedman/Reich idea is a logical fallacy. But it does reflect what the campus “labor coalition” is trying to do on campus…..hmmm….
I was going to blog about this, like I did one time when Friedman quoted the NEJS prof Yitzhak Nakash, but I figured no one else would care. I guess Luskin does.

Luskin only cares when it’s:
a) The NYT
b) Krugman
c) DeLong
d) Any other economic thing that he thinks is a fallacy.
I was just in conspiracy theory spinning mood today.
