So Richard Clarke is still in the news..and apparently he appeared on one of those sunday morning shows (I think it was meet the press)
Regardless, I’m still very skeptical of this guy and his claims. I know I’m not the only one out there who harbors such a feeling.
Apparently some relatives of those who lost their lives on 9/11 aren’t thrilled with Clarke either: NO THANKS, MR. CLARKE
Robert Novak also reported yesterday that there may have been some conversation between Clarke and a panel member before his testimony. (See the second and third items)
But in the end, I’ve gotta say, that I totally agree with Neil Cavuto
I found this one to be quite funny to say the least
Kerry too ‘French’ to sway ‘adolescent’ Americans: consultant
Reach your own conclusions…
I’ve got less than ~4 hours to crank out part of an advertisement to run in this week’s issue of the Justice.
And tonight is Modfest! Wooohoo!
Oh, and for now, here’s Rush’s thing on the Margolis twins. (I promise, there are more on it–which I’ll add)
Today was another one of my long fridays, so as a result, I don’t really have anything exciting to blog about.
Tomorrow night is ModFest, so that’ll be fun. I’ve also gotta design a set of poster and advertisements for next week’s speaker.
Otherwise, my plans for the weekend include…uh….catching up on sleep.
Stop by the Republicans Table in the Shapiro Campus Center today
We’ll be there from 12-2pm!
You’ll also be able to purchase a copy of David Horowitz’s latest book: Left Illusions
at a discount, and if you bring it tuesday, you’ll be able to get it signed when he speaks here at Brandeis!
As I mentioned yesterday, President Bush came to Boston and spoke last night.
While I was unable to attend the pro-Bush rally which took place, other bloggers were able to.
Dog Snot Diaries was there and snapped some pictures
The Pardon My English crew (Aaron, Tyler, Javene) and Matt Margolis were also in attendance.
Tyler has a post up over there detailing how the anti-Bush crowd got a bit rowdy and began to verbally and physically assulted the pro-Bush crowd.
The Margolis Twins also got featured by the Boston Herald! Way to Go!!!!
We’re awaiting pictures of this as well guys! Well done!
Update: I’ve been out all day, but from my email, I heard that the Margolis twins not only made the Drudge Report but Rush Limbaugh’s show too! Way to go!

In his opinion piece today, Charles Krauthammer is awarding the 2004 Chutzpah of the Year Award.
I didn’t know such an award existed. If I had, I’m sure there’s a long list of people who I’d nominate to be potential recipients of it…
Yesterday’s debate went rather well. Sorry I didn’t blog about it earlier, but I had to subject myserlf to some torture (translation: writing a really, really boring paper for a class, which took a few hours.
All in all, I think the debate went rather well. It was very down-to-Earth, civilized and informative. At least that’s my take on it. (I”ll share pictures of it when I get them) .
We mainly discussed issues of national security and foriegn policy (from Iraq/Iran/Syria/NK, Terrorism to the UN and the PATRIOT Act, etc.)
The only thing which I was uncertain about was the question surrounding Dick Clarke’s claims of recent days–because, well, Clarke’s statements seem to often contradict themselves, no?
But all in all it went well (or so I’m told)
Yep, you heard me right–the President is in Boston today for a fund raiser.
He’s going to be speaking at the Boston Park Plaza hotel (where Brandeis had its formal last sat.)–and it’s estimated that the President will bring in $1 million to his campaign!
Unfortunately, I lack the money to attend the event, and due to my homework load, I can’t go to the pro-Bush rally being held outside of the hotel. However, I do have one friend who will be inside at the event, and I’m sure that both Aaron of PME and Matt Margolis will be rallying for the President. (and a slightly belated happy 24th birthday to them!)
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve gotta get ready for my debate this afternoon–and Rumsfeld is speaking!
Apparently everyone’s favorite linguist and uber-liberal political comentator Noam Chomsky has a blog.
I’m wondering–what are the odds of him actually blogging about linguistics?
Today (Thursday) here at Brandeis:
A debate between the Brandeis Republicans and the Brandeis Democrats.
The topic: National Security and the War On Terrorism
(representing the policies of the Bush Administration vs. Sen. Kerry’s policies).
4pm in Schwartz Auditorium
Arguing for the Republicans–none other than me!
Yes, I, will be representing the Republicans and the “Bush Doctorine”, and I plan on making the party and its supporters proud.
I’ll also let everyone know how it goes, and I’ll upload pictures of it soon.
Sorry about my lack of blogging today…but I’ve had a long day.
First went to class as usual, then had lunch, then came back to change for PE class, but first went to the student center to help out at the Republican table.
There was only one angry person who approached the table the whole time it was there! (And it was a staff member, not a student)
Then to PE, then back here to work on 10 pages of paper writing that I had to do, and I’ve got another summary paper to write for friday (sigh). Then some other stuff came up which sidetracked me. Finally, I got my work done but it’s now very late, and I’m getting tired.
As for Conservative coming out Week–so far so good. Tuesday night we had a speaker on the 2nd ammendment; and despite the last minute arrangement, there was a decent size crowd. Granted, the speech was, um, interesting at times, it was mostly informative. Tomorrow there’s also another event but I’m listing it in my next post.
No, I’m not going to use this post to talk about recent presidential election polls or anything like that (Though Real Clear Politics keeps good track of these things)
Rather, a friend and I were having a conversation the other day, and we were joking about some poll data (it was a silly question), but then I noted: “Hey–haven’t you always wanted to be one of the respondents in a poll?”
Just a random thing to think about…if not just for novelty
I think Frank J. really summarizes the big thing the media is missing
So Let Me Guess – You Want to Kill Jews: So the Palestinians are like, “Kill joooos! Kill joooos!”
And then the Israelis kill Yassin and the Palestinians are like, “Kill joooos! Kill joooos!”
And the news services report, “Hamas Vows to Kill Jews”.
And it’s like, what’s changed? The Palestinians have been trying their hardest to kill Jews already, that they can’t really up the ante. I mean, the Israelis could kidnap Arafat, take him to the beach, and push him into the sea, and all the Palestinians could do is shake their tiny fists in impotent rage while shouting, “Kill joooos!”
The only one who can realistically threaten more violence is Israel, and, if that happens, there is going to be a major virgin shortage in paradise.
Exactly–what’s changed?
They exist! They really do exist! There are Republicans at Brandeis!
Yes, we do exist. We’re not like the Brandeis Republicans of recent years (some of the alums reading this know what I’m hinting at) Granted, we often (make that almost always) keep our identities secret for fa variety of reasons (look at my blog entries from a year ago at this time for some examples)
But this week is different. Why? It’s officially “Conservative Coming Out Week” (I didn’t choose the name–the others did) and we’ve got all sorts of fun, conservative/republican themed events occuring. I’ll be blogging more about these, but just to give you a hint, tonight we’re having a speaker from GOAL to talk about 2nd ammendment law and firearms ownership.
The Justice has a feature story on Conservative Coming Out Week and the Brandeis Republicans this week (if you’re wondering why I wasn’t interviewed it’s b/c I couldn’t make the meeting–lacrosse game).
The Justice Editorial Board also wrote a rather fair editorial about us as well
More on the week as time goes on!
It’s that time of the week again! Time to look what’s in the news here at Brandeis!
But first, an open question (from a commenter) for anyone who may know the answer. Why does the banner on the Justice website read: “the student weekly of Brandeis University.”
What happened to it being “the independent student newspaper of Brandeis University”??
Now onto this week’s news (and of course my thoughts on it) (more…)
Some of my sources have informed me that in tomorrow’s issue of the Justice there’s going to be (what has the potential to be a great) story that will be of interest to this blogs readers. Not only that–but the subject of the article is also that of an editorial in the paper!
What’s it all about? Well…you’ll find out tomorrow
