Drudge is headlining the following story: Teresa tells reporter to “Shove it”
Yawn…boring…so what? That’s far from being an important story–let alone even being a remark that warrants a story. Drudge has been running quite a few of these recently–is he really that desperate for stories that he’s scraping the bottom of the barrel and coming up with bits like this?
Heck, a similarly dull, yet not as pathetic of a story could be made about how Teresa’s remarks seem to go directly against most of what was said during the Dem Primary campaign season….
Looks like the DNC Convention may be getting off on the wrong foot with journalists
Media Say DNC Restroom Facilities Lacking
Twenty portable restrooms, like those used on construction sites, are lined up in front of the media pavilion to service nearly 1,200 members of the print media who will be working around the clock. That’s about 60 serious coffee-drinkers per toilet.
“That’s absurd,” said Jim Drinkard, a political reporter for USA Today, when he heard of the ratio of toilets per media member. “This is not the type of planning you’d expect out of someone trying to be a good host.”
And this just in–the protesters (among them kooks) have already begun to fight amongst themseleves!
The fun never ends with these people, does it?
Guess what everyone, the “people’s representative” of the NYT (That’s their term for “ombudsperson”) has finally admitted what people have been saying for years:
Is The New York Times a Liberal Newspaper?
Of course it is.–July 25, 2004
Is anyone really suprised by this revelation? I think the real suprise is that they’re actually admitting to their bias. Here’s more on the story
I saw this headline in today’s paper:
9-11 report finds al-Qaeda contacts with Iran, Iraq
Talk amongst yourselves….
(and for the record, I think it’s time to give the mad mullahs, a long overdue, “heave -ho” if you know what I mean)
So the Democratic National Convention finally gets underway on Monday…at long last. I doubt it will be anywhere near as interesting as today’s Red Sox-Yankees game was (the Sox won 11-10 in the end)
I think Blogs for Bush is now picking up coverage of Quagmire Watch 2004 –and they’ve already hit the ground running!
I’ve got no plans to watch any of the convention–to be completely honest. It’s all scripted talking points anyway. Why waste the time watching things that are predictable, ya know?
But it’s going to be more interesting to watch how the city of Boston attempts to function with all this going on
I think the President’s remarks to the Urban League today were very powerful and made for quite a good speech.
The questions he posed are ones all people should ask themselves.
Well Done Mr. President!
My disdain for Jacques Chirac is no secret here…and this article reinforces my viewpoint: Bombastic Chirac Rankling World Leaders
I recently completed reading Kenneth Timmerman’s book: The French Betrayal of America (I highly recommend it too), and after reading that, I’ve come to despise Chirac even more. He’s as dirty and corrupt as politicians come–and France is even worse than I imagined.
Sorry about the lack of blogging–I went to the gym this morning for my usual workout and as I was about to head home, mom called and said I had to meet her at the mall b/c there was a huge sale at a store. So I met here there, and then shopping ensued (sigh), and then mom decided we should go to lunch. Problem is we never made it to having lunch since we were near this plaza where we had to make an uber-large number of returns (*groan*). So time just kept passing on and on….
But I’m finally back and catching up on things. Wow Sandy Berger is in some really, really hot water now….yikes!
Time to catch up on things and set the table and the like. Hopefully more later
Over at NRO, Robert Alt, who is currently traveling in Iraq has an article up in which he interviews members of the Ohio National Guard.
Go read what these (in my case–local) national guardsman have to say!
Oh and STFU Andy Rooney
Even though it’s been out for less than 24 hours, I’m wondering, is it really worth it to read the 9/11 committee’s report in its entirety?
Now this is an interesting article:
Costco, Wal-Mart duel in political arena–Warehouse-store giants give money to opposing parties
Now both Costco and Wal-mart have their advantages and disadvantages, but I don’t think I’d limit my shopping based on their political affiliation. After all, I’m one of those consumers who is always looking for the best deal he can get. Though I’ve noticed that Costco does tend to have more stores in the traditional “blue states” while Wal-mart is spread out over the middle of the country (a.k.a. “Red States”)
Who would’ve ever thought to look into this?
I was listening to Hugh Hewitt’s radio show briefly as I was driving this evening.
Now Hewitt was talking about an interview that apparently took place between Peter Jennings and Sen. Kerry, and one of the topics that was touched on was that of Abortion. Jennings asked Kerry the following question:
If you believe that life begins at conception, is even a first trimester not murder?
And you have to see Kerry’s response to this question.
Now I don’t think that the word “Gobbledygook” is even sufficient to describe the answer given. Perhaps the word we’re looking for is “bamboozling”?
Many on the left knock President Bush for what they call his “simple mindness”, or the style in which he answers questions. However, I think that the simplicity of the President’s comments/statements, resonate more with the average American than do long, convoluted statements (which Kerry is more known for).
Anyone else read fmr. Sec. of Labor, and current Brandeis Professor Robert Reich’s opinion piece in today’s LA Times?
I’m thinking that this piece deserves a through full-frontal fisking. There’s so many inaccurate things in his piece–and it’s so backwards…..
The other question which exists, is there an audience for such a fisking?
Report: Starbucks Warns Of Price Hikes
How do you think the American public is going to react to this news?
Note: I’ve got nothing against Starbucks or their coffee–it isn’t too bad, but I think it’s overpriced as is.
Sorry that I haven’t blogged anything the past few days,
but like the rest of you, I’ve not had access to my blog due to some unexplained computer problem with the blog host.
I think it’s now safe to say that I’m back in buisness.
(What a bad week to have my blog go down! Look at all the news!)
Looks like the mainstream national press is just starting to catch on to the event that I’ve been refering to here (in jest) as Quagmire 2004–Boston, MA!
WaPo: Boston Labor Dispute Awaits The Democratic Convention
Should the situation remain the way it is now, I think such events will wind up being more interesting than the convention itself.
I always love the headlines (and naive reporting) that accompany stories like this one: Palestinian PM Resigns Amid Shakeup
Now it’s well known that The “Palestinian PM” was nothing more than Arafat’s puppet. And it looks like Arafat isn’t done playing with this puppet of his yet:
Qureia sent his resignation letter to Arafat through an aide before the Cabinet meeting. The 74-year-old Palestinian leader, however, refused to accept it and scrawled a giant “X” over the paper with a pen, a Palestinian official said.
Oh, as for the so called “Overhaul” arafat is supposively working on–that’s a farce as well. It’s a cosmetic change–he still calls all the shots
UN: Israel Best Country in Middle East to Live In
I’m sure whoever let Israel score that high on the UN’s part is going to be disciplined…
Israel placed 22nd over all which is extremely impressive. Chalk up another victory for those evil Zionist Jooooooooos
Good news and bad news….
Let’s start with the bad: House Rejects Cut in Military Aid to Egypt (Damn Realpolitik)
Then the good: House Votes to Block Aid for Saudi Arabia (It’s a step in the right direction!)
