Stupid Post-modernists
I’ve never been too, too big on post-modernism; with one exception–Israeli Literature.
I took a course called “Advanced Survey of Israeli Literature II” my freshman year, and our survey was of rather current/recent Israeli short stories (in Hebrew). Israel is just now undergoing its post-modernist phase, and there was something within the literature that resonated with me in a lot of the (literary) works. Unfortunately, I have not taken as fondly to post-modernism in other Israeli disciplines, such as the post-Zionist historical revisionism (but that’s another subject).
Some of the authors we read in the class included Orli Kastel-Bloom, Savion Librecht
One of my favorite authors whose works we read in the course was Etgar Keret.
In fact, I liked his work so much I even purchased one of his books (in addition to keeping all the photocopies I was given for class) . If I’m not mistaken, some of his works have also been translated into English–they may be on Amazon or something.
However, it wasn’t till today that I realized that Keret is more than a post-modernist, he wrote an op-ed for The Guardian which reveals that he’s a full fledged post-Zionist Israeli leftist moonbat.
Sigh…nevertheless, I still enjoy his writings, and will take the oppertunity to read them as circumstances permit.
How does Dana International fit into that?

er…um….uh….that’s a good question. I don’t have much criticism of the music though (aside from Aviv Geffen who is a tool).
