Elsewhere in New York City

Filed under: Sports — Jaws @ 11:27 pm

Elsewhere in NYC…in the Bronx, at the home of the Bronx Infidels (that’s the NY Yankees) played host to my hometown heroes (the Cleveland Indians)

Tonight was a glorious evening, as the Infidels went down in flames losing to the Indians 22-0.

Yes, you read it right, Indians: 22; Infidels: 0

What a glorious evening!

  1. You can imagine how excited I was to turn on the TV last night to see that the Sox were beating the Angels, only to shriek with glee when Jerry Remy mentioned that the Yanks were down 22-0…

The Sox are now only 3.5 games behind the Yanks, up from 10.5 previously, and are 2.5 games ahead in the wild card race.

    Be still my heart…

  2. After finding out the final score of the game, I just happened to flip on over to YES, and lo and behold, there was an encore presentation of the game being run—now that made my night

The worst shut-out in this history of the Yankees and the AL–it doesn’t get much prettier than that.

But I dunno abou the Sox overtaking the Yankees, history seems to frown on that whenever such a scenario arises.

  3. For comparative purposes last year’s osu-michigan game was closer.
35-21. On the other hand, the stakes weren’t as high for the infidels.

  4. That’s true! Michigan still deserved to lose, but less I digress…
Heck, the Brandeis Lacrosse team, even in our most severe trouncings in the indoor league last year never lost by 22!
