9 Months–59 Pounds

Filed under: Personal — Jaws @ 10:30 am

(excuse the self promotion and bragging, but I’m just trying to stay in a good mood)

I began Weight Watchers exactly 9 months ago (12/30/03-today) and have since dropped exactly 59.0lbs (I went to a meeting this AM).

That is all.

  1. Congratulations! What’s your target loss?

I’m still staying in my target range, although with the holidays coming up, I might find myself out of it a bit. Won’t take long to get back where I belong early next year, tho!

  2. Actually, when I started I never set a target, as I assumed I was just gonna quit early on. So the first goal they set was 10%. However, then I was away at school so I didn’t get to attend meetings or the like until I came home for the summer–when eventually they decided on a goal weight for me. I did the maintnance weeks and now I’m a lifetimer.

I should inquire as to what my target range is…I think I’m on the “too low” side right now, when it comes to the BMI standards for my height. Uh oh.

    Keep up the good work!

  3. What’s worked for me is to set a range I feel comfortable at (170 to 175). I stay at about 173 and 174. I could probably go lower, but I feel good at this weight. Maybe next year.

You keep up the good work, too!

  4. Part of me wishes I had figured out a “comfort range”, but I just adapted to the lifestyle, and the weight just keeps coming off. Part of the incentive has been looking at my self in the mirror and just standing there in shock of how I’ve changed for the better. In all, the number doesn’t matter much to me, it’s that I feel healthy and look better that counts.

Also now that I’ve started grad school and being on my own more, my diet has changed, a lot more canned food, vegtables and frozen foods…so I’m not taking in as many calories either, so that may be a factor. Were I also to get myself some pots and pans, I could expand my diet more…
