Too much Kool-aid

Filed under: Campaign2004,Moonbats and Wingnuts — Jaws @ 10:47 pm

Who let Sen Kennedy drink so much kool-aid?

Kennedy says Bush makes U.S. more vulnerable to nuclear attack

Someone better take the microphone and the car keys away from Kennedy before he does something stupid again….

Not looking good

The Browns at playing the Giants (in East Rutherford) today at Giants Stadium, so I get the privledge of actually seeing the Browns play a game on TV.

With the way the Browns’ offense have been playing in the first half, it would definitely have been preferable to not watch the game.

It’s halftime now….perhaps the second half will look better?

Update: Okay, based on what I’ve seen today, the Browns’ QB Jeff Garcia sucks. They better fix things up with the team prontisimo.

Breaking news out of Damascus, Syria:Top Hamas leader assassinated in Damascus

The Arabs (as expected) are blaming the Israelis….but were the Jooooooos really behind this one?

No matter what, the world is now a better place without this scumbag on it.

Update:
From the occasionally reliable DEBKAfile: Khalil, highest value Hamas target after [Hamas Leader Kahleed] Mashal, ordered all group’s terrorist attacks. Hit is blow to [Syrian dictator and thug Bashar] Assad and his intelligence agencies, meaning terrorists harbored in his capital are no longer safe.

Blogging will resume saturday night

Exam day!

So TAing my lab section went well tonight. Everyone was done in about 3 hours or so.

Then I came home to resume cramming for my first neurobiology exam, which is tomorrow, and is going to be harder than all hell. (insert appropriate curses here) .

I’ve been prepping for it all week and then some (hence the lighter blogging than usual). It didn’t help much that I’ve also been under the weather a lot recently.

I’ll perhaps put a post up tomorrow after the exam if I have time to share my thoughts on it.

Time to get a few hours sleep…after all, neuroanatomy class tomorrow, 8:30AM….sigh

Update: Took the exam, it was super hard, it sucked, at least it’s over with.

Did Kerry really say that?

Has Kerry committed what many New Englanders would consider “heresy”?

As the Smarter Cop points out something that Kerry said at a recent fundraiser in New York:

At the fundraiser, Kerry reflected on his reborn self. He praised the triple victories of the Jets, Giants and Yankees and said: “I came here to bask in your glory, came here to grab onto that winning streak.”

Did he really juts praise the Yankees!?!?!?! That’s a major, major, major no-no in Red Sox Nation. Especially since the Yankees winning streak started over the weekend when the Yankees took 2 of 3 from the Sox.

Good Grief! Enough Vietnam already!

I know I’m not the only one who feels this way, but: Enough with all the Vietnam references in this campaign already! I’m sick and tired of hearing about it. Vietnam was 30 years ago; not now!

Heck, someone should start a 527 group that runs ads on TV in an effort to pressure the campaigns to focus on the present (and not Vietnam).

From the sound of this article, it looks like Kerry’s campaign strategy may be to cast Iraq into the same light as Vietnam was

There are no easy answers. Kerry’s own advisers acknowledge he’s taking a risk, because Americans don’t like to be told they’re losing a war. It took nearly a decade for public opinion to turn against the Vietnam War, said a senior Democrat with ties to the campaign, and Kerry has just six weeks.–AP

*sigh*

Isn’t there anything else they can campaign on or about? (that is if they hae a message yet)

Oy Vey!

With the importance of the Jewish vote in a national election, one would think that the campaigns (or the debate committee) would have taken Jewish holidays into consideration when scheduling the debates.

Eye on Ohio

All the latest polls seem to show President Bush with a decent sized lead over Sen. Kerry in my home state, Ohio.

This is rather suprising, seeming that Ohio has probably the worst economy (for a state) in the nation and the state GOP is in disarray (with State Politics).

But here via Red State is an article that explains Why Bush Is Winning Ohio

The President also scored another indirect victory today in the Buckeye State as the Courts have ruled that a proposed constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage in Ohio can remain on the ballot.

This social issue will likely bring more social-conservatives (incl. religious individuals) to the polls on Election Day, and this will likely benefit the President at the ballot box.

I’ve taken a real liking to Home Depot recently, especially since moving to school (and needing tools and supplies to get my room together). Then of course there is the whole machisimo-tools-building aspect..

And this story only makes me like Home Depot even more:Home Depot to Recruit Military Vets, Spouses

Here we go again!

Like the title of this post says, here we go again: Swift Boat Vets to Launch Another Ad

I’ve not given much attention to the whole Swift Boat Vets Group and their ads, frankly cause I don’t really care about the whole Vietnam aspect.

But expect a whole nother round in the news about this upcoming ad….

The Joooooooooos Win!

A good piece from TNR (reposted over at JWR) Israel’s unexpected victory over terrorism

I’ve only skimmed the piece, but from what I read, the lessons within it are very useful.

DVD: Fahrenhype 9/11

This sounds interesting, just based on the cast of characters that have been assembled for it:

Narrator: Dick Morris
“Stars” include: Gen (ret) Tommy Franks, Sen. Zell Miller, Ron Silver, Ann Coulter, Ed Koch, and more!

This may be one of the few, if only times when Ed Koch and Ann Coulter may agree on something and be willing to be in the same production to admit it….

Now off to sit through a lecture in physiology….
(and it’s with the same prof who gave all the earlier lectures today; he already apologized to the two of us TAing ahead of time)

I hate mondays

Filed under: Graduate School — Jaws @ 3:13 pm

Oh how do I dislike mondays…

I had a lecture from 8:30-9:20; followed by a lab prep session from 9:35-12 (the morning was full of the joys of being a TA); then neurobiology class from 1-2:30, then sit in on physiology (as a TA) from 3:50-5:10, then a review session from 5:30–??

Then when I eventually get home, I’m definitely going to the gym, then figuring out something to eat for dinner, then it’s back to the books I go… *sigh*
I so don’t like mondays….
