It’s Tuesday…so it’s Justice Time!
It’s Tuesday! That means it’s time to take a look-see as to what’s going on back at the alma matter via the Justice
Controversial visit prompts BMSA to close suite–I previously blogged on this story here
A lot of the stories have to do with the student gov’t elections and the like…and to be honest, like most students, I really never cared about that stuff.
New budget includes 4.5 percent increase in tuition–Wow…is it safe to say that students are now really being ripped off?
Telemarketers blitz students with 13,000 calls since Feb. 5–Damn you telemarketers! What about that “Do Not Call” list thingy?
Admissions: applications up 26 percent from last year–That’s a good sign for the school.
In the forum section:
The obligatory Shiavo column: Life or Law? Schiavo case sets worrying precedent
KRISCH: The laundry divide: A blue-bagger’s blues–A good piece, with a good tie-in to Harvard’s “Dorm Maid” program. For what it’s worth, I always did my own laundry.
FRIED: BTV case exposes UJ as too complex–I had a friend who was a UJ Justice, and what she told us about the UJ itself makes me agree that the UJ is overly complex.
HARTZ: All in all a pretty rough week–This is a column? This guy would be better off blogging!
Never too old–I too had classes with older individuals, and they were a great assett to the class. In my opinion, you’re never too old to learn.
Don’t forget to check out the special April 1 edition just posted online.

Though I got to say, the police log was so dissapointing
Comment by Igor — 3/29/2005 @ 7:56 pm
I agree with Igor. I mean the police blotter itself is usually funny enough on its own!

About elections…believe you me, people cared about BTV amendment…turnout beat Kraft by about 100 people.
Comment by Igor — 3/30/2005 @ 12:17 am
Really? That many people actually voted in the BTV election?
I’m really impressed! How’d they manage to pull that kind of turnout for the vote?
Speaking of which, does BTV even broadcast anything these days?
Comment by jaws — 3/30/2005 @ 12:44 am
Depends if tune in at exactly the right time…after the vote they had a day straight of nothing, now I believe they have something again…but no real schedule.
SAF groups really mobilized against BTV because BTV was taking their money without asking…read the articles (in the hoot of course:) ), you’ll find it interesting.

I can mostly recall that not only did they not have a schedule, they often would just play DVDs. Problem was the DVDs seemed to be froozen on the main menus for hours on end. Lord only knows what BTV was doing at the time.
I’m sure the SAF groups would mobilize against BTV. It only seems logical. Perhaps I’ll have to go back and read the articles. I still find it suprising that such a large number of students voted. I remember how big of a deal the Kraft vote was, as there were passions running high over it (people wanted their Easy Mac), but this seems minor by comparison. Perhaps since it was attached to a Student union election?
Though what would BTV do with the money? Continue to waste it without providing a product/service?
