Bucking the establishment
The idea that the “establishment” Republican party may finally be getting the heave-ho from the Republican base in the state is not only good for the party, but for the state as a whole.
The Republican establishment in recent years has been turning out bad candidates (read: Bob Taft) and they’ve only wound up being elected since the State Dem’s were even more pathetic.
Now if the Republican actually offers some choices of candidates, and the non-establishment figures pick up the nominations–this could mark a new (and hopefully better) chapter in Ohio politics.
