no,it isn’t odd. it IS,however,popular and easy. taking things seriously is the difficult challenge,especially when there is no obvious seriousness to a situation. people almost always expect a little comedic response to things,as it helps them to come to grips with a reality they’d rather not face head-on. part of the human deviousness we’re all born with and trained in to some minor degree. if you’ll examine your own perceptions(assuming that’s even possible for you,as it isn’t for some) you might even begin to understand how monumental it IS to face those things for what they really are.
