There’s really something ironic in the case of the TB traveler, in that his new father in law, is a respected CDC TB researcher.
Now, should he have asked his father-in-law to be for advice before traveling to Europe? Or would that have perhaps jepordized his marriage?
Either way, in my opinion, the man shouldn’t have flown overseas–if at all
Anyone know when the heat wave is gonna finally break around here?
You too can tour Broadway (and other parts of the city), sans the traffic, noise, panhandlers, odors and more!
It is more fun to experience it in person though
Perhaps Google may be over reaching a bit with it’s latest idea to potentially take on Microsoft
One of the good things about MS Office is that it is hosted on the individual comptuer, and that it doesn’t require an Internet connection to function.
Furthermore, MS Office doesn’t require one to store their data on the web (like Google Apps). The former is advantageous for many companies who would rather like to keep information confined to their corporate networks, either for security or regulatory reasons.
There’s a chance that Google could make a dent in MS’ armor, but in the big picture, it’s not much.
or perhaps pillory would be a better punishment:

Let people hurl wads of (canned) spam at this guy in revenge….

Yesterday the unveiling for my late grandfather was held.
In contrast to the downpour which marked his funeral a little over a year earlier, yesterday, there wasn’t a cloud to be seen in the sky.
The ceremony was simple, solemn and dignified–just as Grandma wanted, and I’m sure grandpa would have wanted too.
Somewhere he was smiling, no make that beaming with pride to see all his children, grandchildren and great-grandchild together.
I miss you grandpa.
NY Daily News: A quick fling often has far-flung consequences
How clueless do they take NYers to be?

This memorial day I’m in Youngstown (where I’m typing this from) for a very memorial one.
I’m here for my late Grandfather’s unveiling.
Grandpa served his country during WWII in the Army Air Force.
This memorial day is special for you Grandpa

Note to self: learn how to be more patient at times
Perhaps my lack of patience in some regards has to do with my exposure to NYC?
Oh…and don’t even start me on the whole “the computer needs fixed” situation…..
Heading off to the airport soon for Cleveland…
Then it’ll be some time in Cleveland and some in Youngstown, before heading back to the Big Apple.
But 3 days with the family……uhoh
Next posts likely from Cleveland
The record-breaking Cornishman who is staying awake for 11 days
Unfortunately, video evidence of not sleeping isn’t exactly proof that one doesn’t sleep. Perhaps if there was a continuous EEG recording that could be used as evidence–as the differences in the waveform activity would be quite interesting to analyze.
Secondary, in analysis of the motor-cognitive effects of sleep deprivation (has the guys pool game gotten better or worse with time)–what tests/analysis are being used to test his abilities?
In terms of a PR standpoint–this stunt is gold. Against scientific standards however, this leaves much to be desired.
Heading accross town for dinner at a friend’s tonight…
Then coming home to pack, as tomorrow I head back to Cleveland.
Not that I have much to say otherwise….
