Ex-revisionist shuts down revisionist

Benny Morris, a “father” of the school of “Post-Zionism” uses historical facts and accuracy to take down Tom Segev’s latest book.

(h/t: Solomonia)

Despite the fact that I often disagree with many of the (Domestic) political viewpoints expressed in the pages of TNR, their coverage of Israel is almost always on point.  Articles like this are just an example of it.

Changing carts

Goodbye hot dog carts…

Hello Halal Carts!

This article instantly brings to mind:

Khav Khalash–Would you like Crab Juice or Mountain   Dew?”

Now how soon till some other tpyes of carts appear…say vegetarian carts or Kosher carts?

Looks like the Iraqi lawmakers, in their pick and choose manner of creating a democracy, have decided to emulate a negative feature of our legislatures.

The untimely lengthy recess…..

Next up: lobbyists perhaps?

Okay, maybe Yankees fans aren’t that dense after all

Via Overheard in New York

Yankee fan #1: What do you like better — hot dogs or hamburgers? Yankee fan #2: I like ‘em both, man. Yankee fan #1: You can’t like ‘em both! Hot dogs and hamburgers are mortal enemies, asshole. Everyone knows that! –Yankee Stadium

Stupidity Abounds

Filed under: New York City, Politics — Jaws @ 8:53 pm

This whole Pace-”hate crime” story reeks of stupidity all around

First off the actions of the student weren’t that bright to begin with.

Second, the fact that this case was referred to the NYPD, where as it should’ve been handled as an internal (university matter).

Third, the fact that the DA is considering pressing felony charges over this whole thing?  Again, this should’ve been resolved through the University’s “judicial system”.

None of these things seem to have been too thought out, and the time should be taken to reconsider.

On a side note, the outrage at LGF over the accused’ name and picture being published in the local media, is a bit over the top.  If anything, the media were doing their job in reporting the story.  It’s doubtful that any of the considerations raised at LGF were even consdiered.

The voices in the head…

The voices are saying that this is a promising development

Times: Scientists breed world’s first mentally ill mouse On a more serious note, perhaps this headline is misleading, as aren’t there mouse models of other mental illnesses (besides schizophrenia–which is the subject of the article)

Suggestion: Private Plane

Filed under: Wierd Side — Jaws @ 7:17 pm

One would think that with the money that the Royals have from oil revenue, they may want to use a private plane to prevent problems like this:

Arab princesses kicked off British Airways plane to jeers and whistles after refusing to sit next to male strangers

That would’ve made things so much easier–no?

Secondary question: If these princesses wear traditional Arab dress, what were they shopping for in Milan?

The more revelations coming out about Spitzer’s aodes sending the State Police after Senate leader Bruno–makes Spitzer’s campaign promises of being a “Reformer” ain Albany seem kaput.

Not that Bruno or any of the other Albany long-timers are above criticism themselves–in fact the opposite is just the case.

However, this kind of behavior coming from the AG turned Governor notorious for going after Wall Street Executives for similar transgressions smacks of hypocrisy and undermines his campaign and platform.

Eh…it’s Albany as usual.
