Claim: Link between wireless technology and autism
*takes a moment or two to stop laughing*
It’s really sad that a junk-science study like this let alone gets published, even worse that it gets international pr.
Anyone familiar with the journal that ran this story?
The NY Post obviously doesn’t read Fark: Giuliani Playing 9/11 card
Um, where has the Post been the past year?
Hmm….this sounds more like my kind of thing
These scientific minds think and drink alike
Even though it was ruled to be a hoax, the parents of
Tawana Brawley want the case reopened.
This is besides the fact that there are still open warrants for both Brawley and her mother, and an outstanding financial judgment against Brawley.
Now while Governor Spitzer has been politically tone deaf as of late, it’s doubtful he’d be dumb enough to honor the Brawley’s request.
Just saw the box score, and despite allowing another second half comeback by the opposition, the Browns eked out a 33-30 win over Baltimore.
Not only are the Browns over .500, but they’ve won 6 games this year!
The Buckeye & Wolverine Shop in Toledo, which is somehow able to stock paraphernalia for both teams under the same roof!
This can’t be Kosher, can it?
Possibly the only thing that could possibly make the store cooler were it to be exactly on the border between the two states, with the State line down the middle as the divider. (On the OH-PA border, there’s a convenience store like that, where one can play both state lotteries under one roof). Naturally, the Scarlet and Grey side of the store is better.
And who could forget these classic ESPN ads
Some initial post game thoughts on the OSU-Michigan game.
–The weather conditions seem to have had the biggest effect on both teams, more than they did against each other.
–Boeckman definitely had problems with the weather as his slips, fumbles and errant passes showed. Guess that’s why the Buckeyes kept things on the ground. If not for the weather, could the offense have been more explosive?
–Defense was key, as it usually is. Gholston was unstoppable. The announcers didn’t focus as much on Laurinaitis as they usually tend to do.
–Henne’s injuries may have affected things more than Hart’s injury did. Henne wasn’t helped either by the weather and/or Manningham’s “butterfingers” either. Though the fact that he toughed it out to play in the game shows a lot of character.
–The Ohio legislature should pass a bill, declaring the “sweater vest” to be the “Official Garment of the State of Ohio” in honor of Tressel.
There’s the defense! And “Beanie” Wells played some Woody Hayes style football (“Three yards and a cloud of dust”)
So it’s off to Pasadena the Buckeyes go….
…Oh, and Michigan lost too!
This calls for some major celebration!
Apparently the appearance of a very religious Jew wearing tefilin led to a terror scare
Oy vey!
They’re leather straps people…
Michigan Sucks! Ann Arbor is a whore!
/would be remiss if this wasn’t said
Work was too mentally draining today for me to string together enough words for a coherent post.
There’s gotta be an NYC equivlent to NIMBY-ism, as most people lack back yards.
With that in mind, this story shows a lot of UWSers screaming NIMBY: City to send more mentally ill to UWS
In what is a most unlikely scenario, a Republican Senator was able to have a letter published in The Justice.
Not only that, it was a letter from Tom Coburn (R-OK), in which he argues against increased gun control
How this managed to make it into the paper, seems to be somewhat of a fluke. Are pigs flying in Sherman? (Well, on the non-Kosher side at least?)
Over at the Neuroethics and Law blog is an excellent piece by a neuropsychologist, debunking the NYT’s recent article about politics and neuroimaging.

Saw one of the union protesters giant rats outside Serafina restaurant (corner 55th and Broadway) this evening (6pm-ish).
Anyone know the significance of the location?
The Browns-Steelers game was televised here in NYC, but I’m still not sure what happened to the Browns in the second half.
Those questions aside (they’ll be sorted out over the course of the week by sports journalists), are we perhaps on the verge of seeing a renewal of the
great Browns-Steelers rivalry?
Ever since that tragic time when the Browns left Cleveland for Baltimore (Art Modell–you suck!) the rivalry seemed to dissipate, as the “New Browns” were very, very, very slow to get started.
This season though, the Brown seem to have shown some promise (the first half of the first game not withstanding). Could this be a sign that the Browns have finally turned the corner?
Combine the Browns apparent resurgence with today’s close game in which the Steelers came back in the second half, could a game like this be the spark needed to rekindle the rivalry?
The NYT has a profile of Dilbert creator/author Scott Adams’ restaurant and its struggles.
Say Gordon Ramsey were to come in as part of his Kitchen Nightmares show, to try to help fix things up.
What Dilbert character would Ramsey become were the story to be told in the comics? A cross between the PHB and Catbert?
It’s not just the primaries that have started too early, it’s also the appearance of everything Christmas related that have sprung up since November 1st.
Wow…the Buckeyes looked the worst today that they have all season.
Did the defense just decide not to show up today?
Granted, Boeckman didn’t look too great today either….
