Poll Error?

This poll has to be a statistical outlier…or thi9ngs are really crazy: McCain cuts Obama Lead in NY to 5 Points

Crappy clock management

Wow…the Brown’s last drive looked promising, except for the fact that their 2 minute drill was horrible.

Not to mention the fact that Anderson then got intercepted on the last play…

‘Tis the life of a Cleveland Sports fan…

Crazy ending

Anyone else catch the end of the Broncos-Chargers game?
What a crazy ending to a game!

Off to watch the Browns-Steelers

Not looking good

Filed under: Sports — Jaws @ 9:47 pm

what’ s the deal with the OSU offense? They choke in the red-zone constantly. Beckman doesn’t seem to be on the ball either.

Where’s the run defense too?

Mac Can Cook?

Apparently, John McCain is a big fan of the grill

According to the NYPost, he taped an episode of the Rachel Ray show yesterday and talked about his love of grilling. (The episode is set to air on 9/22).

Now will Rachel Ray perhaps also have Sarah Palin on, to share some of her Alaskan cooking tips with Ray’s viewers?
(A seafood recipe would probably connect better than say caribou)

Hipsters v. Hassids

Filed under: Jewish Stuff/Judaism,New York City — Jaws @ 9:53 pm

The ultra-orthodox Jews in Williamsburg don’t seem to be too happy with some new bike lanes going through their part of town.

The main culprits: Hipsters.

Now the ultra-orthodox Jews in question are the extremely insular (could one say “xenophobic”) Satmar sect.

Now this pits two not too popular groups against each other. But in this case the Hipsters may have the advantage–as the Satmar’s need to realize that if they’re gioing to be in Williamsburg, they’ll have to adapt to their new neighbors.

Seen in the gym

This one guy who always works out in front of a mirror, usually doing (seated) curlz or cable shrugs, drinking vitamin water, tossed his cookies the other morning after working with a trainer. Funny thing is, the trainer looks like a slimmer version of Drago. Quite amusing in a wierd gym humor twisted way.

In other news, deadlift day destroyed me.

LHC: Success

The LHC’s first test was a success!

Not only that–the world didn’t suddenly end either!
(Just like people said it would with Y2K, the RHIC, etc.)

Biden’s loose lips?

Biden says that Hillary Clinton may have been a better running mate for Obama

Well, it’s possible he’s right and it’s possible he’s wrong. It’s a toss up. Who knows?

From a previous convesration at work, one of the girls said that if Obama had taken Hillary onboard, they’d have all the major demographics locked up: white women, gays, youths, blacks. [Alas, said person also blamed the government for preventing this from happening--go figure?]

No way to treat a lady

Obama should know better than to call a lady a pig

Sure, this is politics, a world in which mudslinging and playground level name calling dominate, but in many parts of the Country, chivalry and manners still hold true. Thus insulting a woman in such a fashion is a big no-no.

VMAs

Filed under: General — Jaws @ 9:21 pm

Some on the Right are getting all angry over the politicis that the host of this year’s VMAs brought to the show.

My take: Who cares?

According to my coworkers, who watched the show, they said it was really dull and boring. Who the heck is Russell Bran anyway? (consensus opinion).
One of the girls went so far to say that the celebs arrival was even better than the show itself.

They also agreed that Pink performed really well. The only disagreement the girls seemed to have was over Rhianna’s performance. One girl said she didn’t sing well, while another (an adnitted Rhisanna fan girl) praised the performance.

Still, who the heck is Russel Bran?

Browns first half thoughts

Lest anyone forget that being a Cleveland sports fan involves a bit of sadomasochism…

–Where’s the pressure on Romo? I know that the Cowboys are explosive on offense, but any pressure?
–The defense is still the team’s achille’s heel
–The Browns rushing game needs help
–Less dropped balls

Went to the butcher

Filed under: Moonbats and Wingnuts — Jaws @ 2:22 pm

UN says eat less meat to curb global warming

In fact, I just went to the butcher to buy some dead animal for tomorrow–Meat Monday!

The UN can’t really be serious about this, can it?

Granted, I don’t eat meat daily, mostly because Kosher meat costs too much, but still….

Family Political Discourse

(Post 1 of what may be an ongoing series).

From a conversation between me and my sister yesterday. The Sister majored in “Politics” at Barnard fwiw.

Sister: So you still going to vote Republican?
Me: Probably, why?
Sister: Ugh, how can you? Palin is a hypocrite and a liar.
Me: You’re wrong. She’s a tough woman who hunts too! But I don’t vote based on VP alone, I vote for the top of the ticket. And show me a politician who isn’t a hypocrite.
*silence*
Sister: They all are…
Me: My point exactly…
Sister: Well Barack is the less hypocritical of the two.
Me: You couldn’t be more wrong…..
