Another crazy one…
Another crazy day at work today…
As I joked with a colleague yesterday, something crazy always happens to me on a Friday at the office…

Say what you will about Obama’s choice of a DVD box-set as a gift to the British Prime Minister.
(Isn’t that discussion already moot?)
Rather, it turns out that the DVDs that the President provided were Region-specific, so PM Brown can’t view them all thanks to DRM.
Could this prompt Congresss to actually take action against DRM?
(Oh well, who am I kidding…wishful thinking, I know)
So the House passed a 90% tax on the bonuses already given to AIG execs
Question though–is Congress even allowed to retroactively tax something like that?
Also, what would this mean for the States/Municipalites in which these people reside–as I’m sure the local governments were hoping for some tax revenue off the bonus.
So far I’m about 10% of the way through Atlas Shrugged and I am very much enjoying the read.
However, I’m still yet to discover who exactly is “John Galt”
(Don’t spoil it for me!)
Things just didn’t click today in the gym for me. Granted, I set a new PRs on a few different lifts–but that wasn’t the issue.
Today was leg day, meaning I needed to squat. Unfortunately, there’s only 1 squat rack and 1 power cage in the gym. The power cage had a trainer with a client doing KB swings in front of it. The squat rack had a trainer having a client do lunges in front of the rack (as there’s a mirror there).
Now where then is a squatter supposed to squat?
Oh…and did I mention that there was no hot water for the showers.

Well, the drinking has been taking place at bars in here on the UES since Sunday (no really) and on my walk home I even saw an ambulance or two outside of a bar.
I”ve never quite understood the attraction that so many people have to alcohol on St. Patrick’s Day.
Perhaps it’s because there’s no Irish in me that I don’t get it?
It’s not wise for AIG to pay out bonuses to the same execs who have lead it to it’s current state.
But just like that, AG Cuomo is all over AIG, even harsher than he has been on BoA over Merril’s bonuses.
One can’t help but wonder, where City Hall happens to stand on the issue. On the one hand, there’s the popular outrage–on the other, the City is desperate for tax-revenue (which the bonuses would provide).
Finally reading Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand.
I figured if everyeone is talking about it, I may as well attempt to understand what all the chatter is about.
Yes! What a great day on the calendar!
It’s the 7th annual International Eat a Tasty Animal for PETA Day!
(as if one needed a reason to eat meat in the first place?) Nom…nom…nom….
Double bonus: Today is my ususal butcher shop day! So many choices….
Disclaimer: I’ve got nothing against vegetarians and/or vegans. I myself am known to consume copious amounts of vegetables. it’s just that the people at PETA are total hypocrites (to put it mildly).
File this one under “do not want”:
When I was walking from work to the Subway Friday evening, I noticed that there was a line forming outside the Park Central Hotel. People were seated there in layers of blankets, folding chairs and even a pup-tent was up.
I had no clue what the line was for….or why there’d be a line like that in Midtown, early on a Friday night.
Turns out, those people were already queued up for an audition for “Top Model”. And apparently that line was also the scene of some chaos yesterday.
Hopefully evereything will be cleaned up by tomorrow morning….
