14-runs
Breaking a Yankees franchise record, the Indians just scored 14 runs in the top of the 2nd inning at the new Yankee Stadium!
Wow…..

NY Post: Mayor [Bloomberg] wants $4 gas
Has the mayor forgotten how the higher price of gasoline drove prices up across the board on all sorts of products? (Remember Mr. Mayor, goods do need transported). How did that effect residents of the city again?
“If you’re a capitalist, which I am [em mine-ed], and you want to solve the problem that we’re driving gas guzzlers and driving too much and not using mass transit, you have to have higher fuel prices,” he said.
Now with the price of mass transit frequently rising here, some people are going to find it more economical to use private vehicles! Not to mention that mass transit needs to pay for fuel too Mr. Mayor. Higher fuel costs will lead to even higher fares for mass-transit.
Second if the mayor is a self-described “capitalist”, why not let the market decide the price of oil/gas?
I never would have thought that Physicians would have a tendency to get sick more often than their non-physician co-workers do.
Not sure how much I’ll actually miss John Madden’s calling games.
Now, on the other hand, if Joe Buck decided to hang up the microphone–that would be a major cause for celebration.
(Wishful thinking….I know)
Passover is now over–now it’s back to consuming leavened products!
Honestly though, my diet during Passover was very similar to my diet during the regular year. The only real difference was that the number of items/ingredients availble to me was far more limited, as were the number of cooking utensils I had.
For the latter, there’s no need for me to have a full kitchen’s worth of pots and pans 1 week of the year.
As for limited ingredients, many of the things I consume year round would theoretically be Kosher for Passover–if only they were prepared in such conditions. (Things such as spices, herbs, oils, nuts, etc.)
Oh, I’ve got 2+ boxes of Matzo here that I never touched–any takers?

Iran complains to UN about Israeli “threats”
Meanwhile, what has the UN done about threats to Israel from Iran?
Vegtable “fettucini” with sweet and sour meatballs (grandma’s recipe).
It was extremely tasty! The only thing I wish I could’ve added was more seasoning to the “fettucini” (but I don’t have any Passover spices).
From Drudge:
NY governor enlisting support of black community; Wife suggests people uncomfortable with his race… Developing…
No, race isn’t the issue. It’s his lack of leadership that has most NYers not approving of his performance. Seeming that he’s shown himself to be a powerless individual, he’s basically made Sheldon Silver the state’s de facto governor.
Perhaps I’ll wait for the article Drudge is teasing to come out…
Don Surber put it better than I could:
I not want nor expect wall-to-wall hard-core coverage of the president. A little levity now and then — President Bush’s Barney cam — is fine.
But why does the president’s choice of a dog have to be a front-page story in the Washington Post?
Granted, I do read the NY Post which is known for it’s odd cover stories….but it’s a different type of cover!

Here’s an easy idea on how to stop them. Ask What would [Thomas] Jefferson do?
Answer: Think Marines + Navy (and Tripoli)
The Familia is still here…we had 2 seders oh, and they trashed my room…but they’re here.
Normalcy to resume Sunday
Things will be slow here because of the Passover holiday. Especially with Mom, Dad and The Brother in town (uh oh,,,,!)
Normalcy should hopefully return come Sunday.
Happy Passover!
Ugh…I hate Matzo so much. Not just what it manages to do to my GI tract, but, really, I don’t find it that appetizing.
(Maybe the fact that I’m not a big carb person either contributes to this feeling).
But while shopping yesterday, I found items on the shelves like “passover pancakes” or “passover pasta”–which is wrong on so many levels.
Finally, it’s baseball season again!
Hopefully the Indians will perform better this year than last year’s mediocrity.
Oh–and the Yankees still suck.
The Sunday Post has an article on how the local TV Weatherpeople are usually off in their forecasting abilities.
Wouldn’t it be just as beneficial to look into a crystal ball to forcast the weather?
