MVP! MVP! MVP!

I officially sem-retract my last post, and instead dedicate this post to Lebron James…who just nailed a clutch 3!

(Still doesn’t excuse the Cavs from poor jump shooting)

And what the hell is that TNT interviewer wearing? A light blue blazer?

Lebron rules.

The saga of being a Cleveland sports fan…

Why can’t the Cavs hit their jump shots!??!?!

More Fraud Anti-Vax Doctors

From the Chicago Tribune:

Dr, Eisenstein is not board-certified in any of the specialties relevant to autism and the use of Lupron, including pediatrics, endocrinology, neurology and psychiatry.

But he is a master in the art of medical entrepreneurship. He has pitched vitamins, books and even a group health plan to his patients. His latest don't-miss-this deal: vitamin D3 and probiotic treatments to prevent swine flu — “A $71 value, YOURS FOR ONLY $39.”

In Eisenstein's view, vitamin D has amazing powers, even when it comes to autism. In a recent presentation, he summarized his advice to parents succinctly, “No Vaccine and More Vitamin D = No Autism.”

This guy is a first order quackola and a total fraud at that.

I’ll agree that vitamin D does good things for the body (yes, I take it daily–as per my doctor’s suggestion)–but does it cure/prevent autism–No!

Protobiotics are also good for ones gastrointestinal health–but these too don’t “cure” or “prevent” autism. (Oh, and the price he sells his goods for is a rip off)

STEAK!

The Washington Post has a handy PDF chart on 9 affordable cuts of beef

In my book–cuts of beef means on thing: STEAK! Yummy!

Now to figure out which of the cuts listed are Kosher–and what the butcher has a good cut of.

This makes me more excited to be having red meat for dinner (bison)

It was Obama vs. Cheney–and guess what?

I didn’t watch either. (*grin*)

On nothing more than a whim, I’m goign to guess that Cheney won the debate.

Biden Reveals Location of Secret VP Bunker

And all this time, I’d been imagining some sort of remote bunker, say burrowed into a mountain in the middle of nowhere. Sort of like a Cheyenne Mountain installation but for the Veep.

Josie’s Kitchen Closed!

Filed under: New York City — Jaws @ 7:14 pm

On my walk home from work I noticed that Josie’s Kitchen (2nd Ave between E. 83rd and 84th) had pieces of paper covering its windows.

Apparently the restaurant shut down today.

Sad…it was a good restaurant, with healthy food and a lot of vegetarian options.

National Nanny State?

There’s a bill in Congress to mandate the display of calories on restaurant menus nationwide (like we have here in NY)

Why is this necessary?
Wouldn’t it be more helpful if they displayed the macro breakdown near the calories?

Oh, and regarding the menus and calories, I think it’s funny how places like Dunkin’ Donuts will post “Donut 200-800 calories” in their ads.

Crunch Bankruptcy Shows the Limits of Pole Dancing

Seriously, virtually every ad in public (e.g. above subway enterances, etc) has the highlight of pole dancing. Most of their ads seem to include more pole dancing or group aerobics. Where’s the iron?

How heavily are tobacco and alcohol already taxed and a Federal and State level?

How would that differ from the status quo?
