Sidewalk lanes
This sounds like a good idea
Tourist lanes for New York sidewalks
Not only will this reduce the number of tourist-local collisions–it will make locals much happier!

Back Thursday
The Dad and The Brother returned to Cleveland this evening.
So it’s back to normal for me after a whirlwind weekend–which left me unable to do any of the reading I wanted to (oh well…)
On the plus side, I’m now a member of Costco–where I discovered that they not only sell mass quantities of all sorts of stuff–but more importantly, mass quantities of Kosher goodness! Horrah for large packages of Kosher meats and poultry, cheeses and salads–at excellent prices no less! (Too bad I don’t have a bigger freezer or more storage space)_
Anyone heard of the brand “Colorado Kosher” as that’s what they have at Costco for beef. The Dad says from what he’s tried they’re a bit over salty.
Okay, time to finish up preparing some stuff for tomorrow.
Among the many things wrong with American fitness are what passes for “gyms” these days
I mean offering things like “coregazm” classes
I’m of the attitude that you go into the gym, do the work you need to do, and get out. No need for DJs, fancy lighting, disco balls, “stores” or the like. Just give me some plates, quality bars, racks, benches, dumbbells and some chalk–and I’m set. Go in to get stronger and push myself harder–not to dance or socialize.
Have the Dad and brother in town still.
Had to spend the afternoon at Yankee Stadium (*Bronx cheer*) booooooorrring.
–Then on the way home since the train was running local (boo random construction!) we went to the Manhattan Costco. [Dad insisted]/
==Went out for a late dinner to Chennai here on the UES, which was quite tasty. There was a spinich dish we had that tasted like it had fenugreek in it–but I couldn’t tell for sure.
–Off to bed…grocery run in the AM with the brother in tow.
The Dad and The Brother are coming to the apartment for the weekend.
Posting time will be limited.
There will for sure be some diet pepsi in the apartment this weekend.

The National Post has a good recap on Francis’ rise to fame and then downfall
Netanyahu turns to Bible in tussle over Jerusalem
Question is–will Netanyahu stick to his religious tenets?
Spent more time then I wanted to today at work at the copy machine as part of an urgent project. (Don’t ask–it’s better that way). Though I also wound up having to fix fax machines and copiers while trying to make copies for myself.
All this plus the usual balagan that is a day at work. Always something new.
Gym went okay this morning too. Felt a bit nauseous again (me thinks its my liver). Was able to hit some reps on the BB bench–and touch with a 4010 tempo (major progress). Though i did notice a smaller ROM in the L side. Will investigate this further.
Went to the Bris this morning. Mazel Tov all around.
Had a horribly stressful day at work. That’s all I can say (sorry, a personal CDAs and the like prohibit me from saying more) Needless to say, I was caught by surprise (as were others) and well…not fun.
Okay, I”m going to go to bed early….
Headed over the Hudson tomorrow morning to Teaneck for a Cousin’s newborn bris.
Yay for more family simchas! Double yay for Grandma coming in for the bris!
So the day started off at the office with me having to reboot my old PC (never fun) to do some billing.
The first phone call of the day into the office was something completely bizarre that lead to a conversation that made me almost lose my breakfast.
(Well, my stomach was already on edge from the gym–but the discussion didn’t help)
After that settled, even before I could get my daily cup o’ joe in…the crazy started anew.
Why must Monday be like this?
On my way home from work last week, I saw sandwich board signs on individuals, who were on segways.
The occasion was the opening of a branch of a new ’save the planet’ restaurant in Midtown.
I just thought the people on the sidewalk, on the Segways were funny.
So I attempted to call my mother this mothers day on her cellular phone, as she’s at my grandmothers house.
Too bad her phone is off and the voice mail is full.
(A metaphor for my life?)
Follow-up: Got in touch with mom later in the day. She’d left her phone in the car….

Today was a beautiful, sunny, warm day outside.
Too bad the wind was gusting like crazy (20-40mph) and non-stop! What a waste of a nice day!
It’s happened again:
S.I. Ferry Crash Injures Dozens
Thankfully,, while 60 people were injured–there were no deaths this time (unlike the 11 in ’03)
