Today the time just seemed to drag on….it’s as if 5pm couldn’t come soon enough.

I don’t remember the last time I had a day like that….

Why must it rain on my days off of work.
If it wants to rain when I’m in the office, that’s perfectly okay.

This program, while well intended, sounds a bit fishy

So what happens when the “secret shopper” calls an MD’s office who doesn’t participate with a Government health program (e.g. Medicare and/or medicaid?) the government probably already knows that said doctor is not enrolled in such a plan…so why bother?

Tried to contact a vendor we use who hadn’t taken care of a regularly scheduled service.

First, I try the rep’s cell number: “this number doesn’t take incoming calls”

Second–I tried the number on the card and laminated flyer “to speak with a customer service rep”. Same recording “this phone does not accept incoming calls”.

Frustrated…I decided to go pay their office a visit, since it’s 2 avenues from our office. Get to the building, and was told by a doorman that the person isn’t there.

Not cool at all…..

Went to sit by the river and read a book today.

It so happened, that as part of a public art project, there are pianos in the parks.

As it would happen, there happened to be quite a talented pianist in the park at the time I was there, so I got to enjoy the sun, the sounds of the water and classical piano all together. It was sublime.

Went back to training this AM. Started at a new gym–and the difference between the new place and the old one is night and day.

The new gym is what I’ve really been seeking out. It’s somewhere to go if you’re serious about training. The bars (and a variety of them) are all in great condition. There’s 100 lbs plates, a power-squat, a platform, solid plyo boxes, and a sense of focus amongst those there.

It’s in contrast to the old gym, which was also an art gallery, held vodka tastings, and was a more “unique” social scene. Not to mention most of the bars were bent…

Very happy with what I found and am looking forward to tomorrow morning,

I’ve just been otherwise “distracted” as of late, so haven’t bothered to post much here. The nice weather has something to do with it I suppose. That plus the fact that I’m now spending more time reading (both for work and pleasure) ties me up.

Back to watching game 7 of the Stanley Cup,

Feeling a lot better now, so I think I’m finally going to push myself to try out a new gym tomorrow.

It’s been over 2 weeks since I’ve set foot in a gym and while this has provided me time to recuperate a few sore points…I miss being in the gym.

Here goes nothing!

Got to leave work very early today, because of a combination of a lack of work for me to do (I was too efficient) and the holiday weekend.

Nonetheless, I decided to take advantage of the glorious weather and go to Central Park.

Silly me, in my excitement driven haste, forgot that since it’s (finally) warm and sunny out to use sunscreen.

At least I recognized this in time and happened to have a tube of aloe vera waiting…

The lesson to be learned here: remember to apply sunscreen!

I’m about to head out for my first day at the new job…

My commute on this day of work is going to be infintisimially easier than my last first day of work commute was too! (More on that story later).

I think to mark my first day, I’m going to stop by 7-11 and pick up a cup of coffee. Working in close proximity to not 1 but 2 7-11 locations may not bode well….

Here I go!

So the world didn’t come to an end today.
(As I feign sarcastic surprise).

What really irks me though is all the press this so called “rapture prophecy” garnered.

One of the people above me insisted on buying lunch for me and my staff in honor of my “departure” today.

She pestered me to find out what I wanted or would eat. I simply replied that I’d brought food with me, and didn’t really want anything. (No matter the occasion, that’s my typical response–especially when I’ve packed myself meals and snacks).

Nonetheless they ordered a salad from a restaurant for everyone. Why salad? They constantly see me eating different vegetables (or “Rabbit food” as some like to call it)-so that’s sort of my claim to fame. Veggies >>> Cake in my book.

But I really didn’t like having food pushed at me. There’s very few people who are allowed to push me to eat, and that list is limited to my Grandmothers, Mother and Aunts. People at work don’t make the list.

Alas, they also ordered soda to drink. Too bad they ordered two bottles of regular Coke. They all know that I’m a tried and true Diet Pepsi guy! [Bad habit--I got it from my father].

Thank goodness I’d brought an extra can for myself!

It’s my last week at the current employer.
My department is already short handed because one of the other two full-time employees is on vacation.

Thus, for my last week, I must do said person’s work, plus train a new employee from scratch (and on computer usage), and wrap up some of my own work.

So tonight at 6:30ish I get an email telling me that there’s going to be a “transition meeting” taking place at 10am, and I need to list everything i do in a table. The sad thing is, as the “jack of all trades”, I probably have too many things to list!
Not to mention the fact that I”m going to be busy in the AM getting all of the patient charts ready, insurances verified etc (for the absent employee!).

How soon until Friday?

Need I say any more?

Bin Laden is dead.

I’m in one of my moods of apathy for much of what’s going on in the news right now. For example:

Royal Wedding….don’t care…
Obama’s Birth Certificate…..yawn….
Trump ranting on TV….shrug…people are listening?

Just saying….

Dear New Patient,

You called a little after 9 this morning and exclaimed that you had to see a doctor as it was an “emergency”.

Fortunately for you, we had a cancellation in the doctors schedule and were able to fit you in for an appointment..

My short-handed staff took the time to make you a chart and I took the time to verify your insurance coverage, deductibles and co-insurance amounts.

And when it came to your appointment time…where were you?
Why did you not even extend us the courtesy of calling to cancel or reschedule your appointment?

The girls were not amused…

Been very (read as too) busy with work this week.
I very much looking forward to my series of days off for Pesach, though I know I”ll be worked crazy when I’m back for ch”m. Boo!
(Probably even a cameo appearance at work on Sunday AM to knock out some billing).

The girls started giving me a headache today again over something very petty (which they were wrong about no less) so I ignored them.

Then there’s our patients. The ones who think my name might be “Trash” when I tell them what my name is. (Really patients…you think someone’s parents would really name their kid “Trash”?!?!?!?!?!?) Plus my “fan club” as usual.

At least it’s almost Friday.
