Biden != Arnold
From Drudge:
Biden taps reporter’s chest, tells him, ‘you need to work on your pecs’…
Now, since I doubt Biden’s physique is anything like Arnold’s (was)….is he really one to talk?

So says CNN…therefore take it with a grain of salt.
Personally, I put little faith in polls. Rather, I just wanted to share this Fark headline that came with the article:
Although South Florida Jews are usually loyal democrats, McCain may sway voters. “Obama is too thin — look at him. Like a skeleton. That woman he’s with isn’t feeding him enough. Oy vey.”
Let the kveteching commence
That’s what Joe Biden says
Last time I checked, higher taxes were usualy equated with socalism…
/Just saying
Very creative article title in the WSJ the other day (I’ll find the link later)
This poll result though, has to be an anomaly…
Shock Poll: Jews Now Favor McCain in New York, 54-32
I’ll assume that most of those polled were not residents of the Upper West side?
Even with 14% either undecided or voting other, those are some suprising numbers. My un-educated guess would be that McCain is scoring higher with the more religious demographic than Obama. The main topics would probably be Israel, charter schools, his “maverick” reputation, etc.
This poll has to be a statistical outlier…or thi9ngs are really crazy: McCain cuts Obama Lead in NY to 5 Points
What?
Apparently, John McCain is a big fan of the grill
According to the NYPost, he taped an episode of the Rachel Ray show yesterday and talked about his love of grilling. (The episode is set to air on 9/22).
Now will Rachel Ray perhaps also have Sarah Palin on, to share some of her Alaskan cooking tips with Ray’s viewers?
(A seafood recipe would probably connect better than say caribou)
Because everyone else is talking about it, let me join the crowd….
I didn’t watch it
There’s my contribution on the subject
Biden says that Hillary Clinton may have been a better running mate for Obama
Well, it’s possible he’s right and it’s possible he’s wrong. It’s a toss up. Who knows?
From a previous convesration at work, one of the girls said that if Obama had taken Hillary onboard, they’d have all the major demographics locked up: white women, gays, youths, blacks. [Alas, said person also blamed the government for preventing this from happening--go figure?]
Obama should know better than to call a lady a pig
Sure, this is politics, a world in which mudslinging and playground level name calling dominate, but in many parts of the Country, chivalry and manners still hold true. Thus insulting a woman in such a fashion is a big no-no.
/Now back to a discussion of the issues
//One can wish….
(Post 1 of what may be an ongoing series).
From a conversation between me and my sister yesterday. The Sister majored in “Politics” at Barnard fwiw.
Sister: So you still going to vote Republican?
Me: Probably, why?
Sister: Ugh, how can you? Palin is a hypocrite and a liar.
Me: You’re wrong. She’s a tough woman who hunts too! But I don’t vote based on VP alone, I vote for the top of the ticket. And show me a politician who isn’t a hypocrite.
*silence*
Sister: They all are…
Me: My point exactly…
Sister: Well Barack is the less hypocritical of the two.
Me: You couldn’t be more wrong…..
(change of subject)
Is it just because it’s “convention season” or has any discussion of issues totally dissapeared and vanished from the Presidential campaign?
And to reiterate my previous posts, I really could care less about Bristol Palin’s baby.
Even though I read the NY Post, I skip over Page Six for a reason….
And everyone was saying the same thing: the governor’s 17-year-old daughter is pregnant, the father is her boyfriend, and it’s really nobody’s business beyond that.–Nathan Thornburgh in Time Magazine (online)
A list of the over 200 people running for US President
Some of the political party names are quite amusing too.
No, didn’t watch it myself. Was sick. Didn’t plan on viewing it either. In terms of fairness, I’ve got no plan to watch McCain’s either.
Some of the co-workers today were gushing over it. These were people who were for Hillary (females who though a woman would be best) but now the say they feel safe voting for Obama. [Like they weren't going to vote for him anyway?]
Seems like a very shrewd move by the McCain campaign to announce their pick today.
Okay, gotta follow the pack and make some comments on McCain’s veep choice.
She’s more attractive than Obama’s veep choice.
The question is how much “gravitas” the VP pick really has (if any) on a ticket.
From the little I know, she sounds like a good leader and figure. She killed the “Bridge to Nowhere”, supports the 2nd ammendment and is from outside the beltway. (Most of the other issues I don’t personally care about).
The media is all ado about the Gallup daily poll today, Obama and McCain are tied at 44% a piece.
It’s worth noting that it still leaves 12% up in the air.
Second, it’s still before Labor Day, ergo, most Americans could care less about the election this far out! (Present company included)
Headline: Sound waves, goo guns won’t be used on protesters
I for one was looking forward to seeing a goo-gun in action!
The term “Flip-Flop” is such a relic of the 2004 Presidential campaign.
Someone needs to come up with a new term for when candidates switch positions for this election.
MTV after 27 years will now accept political ads
Music videos still strangely absent….
When people have started to focus on inane issues like Obama’s Birth Certificate (McCain has already gone though this) or his bike riding fashion (and who cares?)
It’s going to be a long, long, long general election (as if the primaries were not bad enough)
